Like many Glaswegians, Rhona MacKay's family were involved with Gaelic culture from the Highlands and Islands. As well as playing with the Scottish National Orchestra, she was a member of the folk group The Whistlebinkies.

  1. Many thanks for this on a blog I only just found. Its a silly shame that so much of your own record collection (many of these discs are unavailable elsewhere), has been made un-shareable. Yet as these blog pages form a small but valuable archival document of some rare obscure aspects of the Scottish folk tradition, I hope it will remain here indefinitely.
